Rainy, windy and Sandy

Danger due to: hurricane. Ждем с интересом.

Upd. Aaaand power is out in half of Waterloo. Sandy isn't even here yet. What the hell, Waterloo North Hydro? "Transformer problem"? "Not weather-related"?

Upd2. Бардак дома -- зло, потому что в нём очень сложно со свечкой искать фонарик.

I mean, *really*!
WATERLOO REGION — Hydro crews in the city of Waterloo are dealing with a major power outage hours before the remnants of hurricane Sandy are expected to blow into the area.

However, Waterloo North Hydro officials said the problems are not believed to be weather-related.

Widespread outages were reported before 6 p.m. on the west side of Waterloo in areas bounded by Erbsville Road, Father David Bauer Drive, Fischer-Hallman Road, Columbia Street and University Avenue. Power outages were also reported north of Floradale.

Crews have been dispatched to the affected areas. Officials hope to have power restored by 9 p.m.

Officials said they believe the outage within the city limits is related to a problem at a main transformer station.

Meanwhile, a boom truck is believed to have brought down hydro lines on Arthur Street North between Sideroad 5 and Floradale Road. Police have the road closed as crews work to restore power in that area.
